HP Voice Meme

Hey. Hey. HEY!

Have we ever done an HP voice meme? I can't think of one. Let's do it! Because words are the most inexhaustible source of magic we have. Or something. And because voice memes are kind of fantastic. And funny. And because ACCENTS. And you get to HEAR WHAT YOUR FRIENDS SOUND LIKE!

And, okay, one by one we'll feel a little silly but put us all together and it's going to be a GIANT MEME-TASTIC CLOUD OF VOCALIZED AWESOME. (Potter will supply the requisite lightning bolt.)

Let's do it!

The instructions are simple. Record yourself answering the following questions and then post the link to the clip in a comment.

1. What is your username? (And why?)


2. Where you’re from and something about it. Is it where you grew up?


3. Pronounce the following words: Aunt, Roof, Oil, Route, Theater, Caramel, Merry/Mary/Marry, Fire, Water, Syrup, Pajamas, Potato, Veritaserum, Wingardium Leviosa, Amortentia, Accio, Expelliarmus, Lumos, your favorite bit of anatomy, and a dirty word of your choosing.


4. Share something you love about your primary HP ship.


5. Share a favorite story or piece of art (with fandom/pairing/author) that you think everyone should read or view.


6. Read a Harry Potter quote of your choosing.


7. If you could use polyjuice to be an HP character for a day, who would you be?


8. Do you have a hobby outside of fandom?


9. Tell a joke or a short story, read a limerick, or say a tongue twister three times fast.


10. Anything else you'd like to add?

How do you record? There are several ways. Personally, I think Vocaroo is awesome because you don't need to sign up or anything like that. You just record a sound clip and then when you like it, you click the Save button and it spits out a link to your recording. So it's completely anonymous, very simple, and effective for this sort of thing. Another option is soundcloud. Your iPhone or other device might also have built in sound recorders that can work.
